The Guelph Silvercreeks are a junior aged (males 18 to 21) baseball club from Guelph, Ontario that play out of the Junior Inter County Baseball League in Southwestern Ontario. The team is often referred to as "The Creeks". == History ==
The team had not won the league championship for a long period of time until 1989 and then became one of the more dominant teams in the junior inter county loop throughout the 1990s and well into the 2000s. Prior to 1999 they were known as the Guelph Junior Royals (1995-1998), the Royal City Optimist Club Junior Royals (1990s-1994), The Projoys (mid-1980s-early 1990s). The team's name was changed in 1999 to Silvercreeks by Walter McGregor and Billy Craven to separate the team's identity from all of the local sports clubs all of whom use the nickname Royals. The Silvercreeks name was the original name of the team back in the 1870s. All Home games are played at Hastings Stadium (Exhibition Park).
